Life in Secondary School

Lower Secondary

At BISK, our Lower Secondary students (Grades 7-9) follow the British International Curriculum, designed to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability. During these formative years, students engage in a comprehensive educational experience that balances rigorous academics with diverse extracurricular activities. Our focus on holistic development ensures that each student not only excels academically but also grows in resilience, empathy, and social responsibility. Through leadership opportunities and community engagement, our Lower Secondary students begin to discover their passions and develop the skills necessary for future success.

Curriculums at BISK

At BISK, our curriculum for Secondary students is designed to meet diverse needs and aspirations. From Grades 7 to 9, students follow the British International Curriculum, benefiting from a structured yet dynamic educational framework. Upon entering Grade 10, students can continue with the British International Curriculum or transition to the American Curriculum, choosing specialised streams in Humanities or Scientific disciplines. This structured flexibility ensures a well-rounded education, preparing students for future challenges and opportunities. At BISK, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are ready to lead and succeed in a global society.

Upper Secondary

In Upper Secondary (Grades 10-12), students at BISK continue their academic journey by choosing either the British International Curriculum or the American Curriculum. This flexibility allows students to tailor their education to their individual strengths and future aspirations. The American Curriculum offers two distinct paths: Humanities or Scientific, enabling students to delve deeper into their areas of interest. Our innovative and personalised approach to education in Upper Secondary ensures that students are well-prepared for higher education and beyond. Through a blend of academic rigour and practical experiences, we cultivate well-rounded individuals ready to excel in a modern, interconnected world.

Counselling at BISK

Our counseling team prioritises students’ social, emotional, and academic growth, ensuring a supportive environment. We offer individualised academic programme planning, advocate for students, advise on course selection, and mediate between stakeholders.

Additionally, we provide crisis response, referral services, and behavioral interventions. Our focus extends to post-secondary opportunities, including college/university planning, standardised testing coordination, and support for various post-secondary paths such as gap years, military service, or employment. Our counsellors collaborate with families, faculty, and external resources to support students in achieving their goals. From academic advocacy to post-secondary planning, we are dedicated to guiding students every step of the way.
